Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) entered “final stage”, the president announced. He emphasized that while certain preferences conflicting with WTO rules were abolished, the government remains committed to supporting businesses and fostering a fair competitive environment.
Uzbekistan finalized bilateral negotiations with Pakistan and Thailand as part of its accession process to the WTO. “We welcome Uzbekistan to the WTO soon and are certain that this membership will bring greater trade and investment to Uzbekistan,” representative of Thailand said.
